The Nassau County AHRC Foundation’s annual Reach for the Stars event is quickly approaching. The gala will benefit the Brookville Center for Children’s Services’ autism program. Rosicki, Rosicki & Associates is a longtime supporter of this fundraising celebration. The firm has sponsored the AHRC Reach for the Stars event in past years, and RR&A co-founder Tom Rosicki is a frequent emcee of the gala. This year, as a Sapphire Star Sponsor, the firm will send 10 representatives to the dinner.
The Reach for the Stars event will be held on March 12 at The Inn at New Hyde Park. This year’s gala will feature dancing and cocktails accompanied by the music of the Jill Gioia Band, as well as a raffle and silent auction.
The highlight of the 2015 Reach for the Stars event will be an appearance by the organizers of Rock Out Autism, an annual concert which brings together local musical acts to benefit autistic youth and the many area programs that support them. These young musicians, who will be represented at the event by brothers Nick and Rafe Tangorra, have been performing on Long Island since 2008. Over the years, they have proven to be especially effective at using their artistic talent to raise funds and awareness for local organizations devoted to supporting people with autism spectrum disorders.
Nick and Rafe Tangorra’s band, the Nick Tangorra Band, has helped a number of autism support organizations, including Reach for the Stars’ beneficiary, the Brookville Center for Children’s Services’ autism program. Last year, the musicians stopped by Brookville Center to give a rousing performance for the children. While there, they also presented the center with a $10,000 check, which resulted from funds raised at their Rock Out Autism benefit concert earlier last spring. The funds provided needed services, such as speech and music therapy and peer mentorship programs for youth with autism.
In recognition of their contributions to the autism community, the Tangorra brothers and the rest of the crew behind Rock Out Autism are being honored at AHRC’s Reach for the Stars event this year.
