The New York law firm Rosicki, Rosicki & Associates, P.C., will sponsor Touro Law Center’s 21st Goods & Services Auction. The event, which will be held on March 11, will feature both live and silent auctions to fund public interest work by Touro Law Center students and to recognize charitable service throughout Long Island’s legal community.
Dozens of products and services will be up for bid this year. The list includes concert and sports tickets, meals at fine restaurants, law courses, reserved parking spots, expert consultations in a variety of industries, vacation getaways, and countless other fun and engaging items.
Proceeds from the Goods & Services Auction will support Touro Law Center’s Summer Public Interest Law Fellowship program. The fellowship offers stipends to a limited number of law students who are interested in working with public interest and nonprofit organizations. Participants in the program receive $4,000 to pursue 10-week positions working under established attorneys in the fields of civil rights, poverty law, and public rights law.
In addition to the fundraising auction, Touro Law Center’s Goods & Services Auction serves as a forum to recognize notable law professionals and others who have provided valuable services to their communities. This year, a number of area lawyers will be honored with awards for Long Island Public Interest and Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. Several local businesses will also be recognized for their efforts to help Touro Law Center provide representation for the survivors of Superstorm Sandy.
